Parties - FAQ's

How many children can we have?  Over fives - our ratios are 2 facilitators (+ minimum 2 parents) up to a maximum of 15 children.  This number will need to include any siblings and their friends. Under fives -  our ratios are 1 facilitator for every 10 accompanied children up to a maximum of 15 children.

How many adults need to be there?  Over fives Up to 10 children – minimum 2 accompanying adults.  Under fives  We ask that each child attending is accompanied by a parent/appropriate adult unless there are siblings in which case a maximum of 2 siblings/family members can be managed by one parent/adult.

What about party food?  We are happy to cook basics on the camp fire.  We ask you to provide all food (we can send you a helpful list as people often over cater and there is a lot of waste)  You are of course welcome to bring a BBQ and cater it yourself as long as you have enough adults standing by to make sure it is run safely.  It’s a rare party when we don’t toast marshmallows on the fire and make ‘s’mores’,  but other than that and birthday cake, we ask that you don’t go too sugar mad as many children just can’t cope with it.  For this reason we request that fizzy drinks also get left behind.  Please feel free to bring a cake, but we would advise you use the ‘sparkler style’ candles as normal ones will more often than not all blow out before you’ve even started singing!

What if it rains?  We use one or two tarp shelters depending on weather to cover the camp fire area and craft area.  The rest of the time we will be out in whatever the weather has to throw at us!  There is a permanent tepee/parachute shelter and scout hut for hire at our Shirley venue.

Do you do party bags?  No but we are happy to provide our own ‘Gone Wild’ / ‘Wild Thing‘ / ‘Officially Wild’ badges and stickers to be added in at a small cost of £5 per 10 children.  We discourage the use of prizes at our parties (unless everyone gets one) as we like everyone to feel equally valued.  There’s nothing worse than not being a ‘winner’ when you’re supposed to be having fun!

What about insurance and DBS checks?  We are fully insured for up to £5,000,000 public liability and have full risk assessments for all our activities and venues.   We ask people booking the party to sign a disclaimer on booking which ensures duty of care and responsibility for the welfare and possessions of the party goers is held with them at all times.   All our staff are DBS checked and qualified / with over 5 years’ experience.
